Special Care Boarding Policy

Beginning August 1, 2017 we will implement a Special Care Boarding charge for any patients staying at Clairmont Animal Hospital who require technician monitoring/assistance and/or DVM supervision.  The Special Care Boarding charge includes your pet’s nightly boarding rate, medications you bring from home and our staff’s expertise in providing excellent patient care. The Special Care Boarding charge is $54.50 per night. The Special Care Boarding rate applies to pets with diabetes, pets requiring daily procedures such as bladder expression, pets with mobility issues, as well as any other medical conditions which our Doctors feel require additional trained technician support in order to properly and safely keep your pet while you are away. Also, please remember that we close at 7pm M-F and 5pm Sat & Sun.  We do not have staff onsite during closed hours.  Please call our office at 404-633-6163 to schedule your pet’s boarding reservations.

Canine Influenza - Vaccines Are Available!

Clairmont Animal Hospital recommends the latest influenza vaccine for at-risk patients. Please contact our office for more information.

Canine influenza, or dog flu, is a highly contagious viral infection affecting dogs and also cats. At present, two strains of canine influenza virus have been identified in the United States: H3N8 and H3N2. Canine influenza is transmitted through droplets or aerosols containing respiratory secretions from coughing, barking and sneezing. Dogs in close contact with infected dogs in places such as kennels, groomers, day care facilities and shelters are at increased risk of infection.

The most common symptoms include: Coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, poor appetite and lethargy

Veterinary expertise is required to determine treatment options and the best course of treatment.
