Electrocardiography
Our in-house laboratory has the latest in diagnostic equipment, including electrocardiograph (EKG) technology. This non-invasive procedure requires neither sedation nor anesthesia in most animals and can be completed in minutes.
EKGs allow our veterinarians to accurately detect abnormal heart rates and electrical rhythms, known as arrhythmias. Arrhythmias often signal health issues such as:
- Congestive heart failure
- Chemical imbalances
- Diseased heart muscles
- Heart disease
- Heart enlargement
- High toxicity levels
